The Orchestras @ PLD
The orchestras at Paul Laurence Dunbar High School are comprised of three groups, each based on skill level. After an audition, participating students are placed in an ability-appropriate group. This school year, more than 130 students are enrolled in one of the three available ensembles at PLD.
Mrs. Rebecca Goff has been the director of Orchestras at PLD for six years. In February of 2013 Mrs. Goff will conduct the PLD Symphonic String orchestra at the annual Kentucky Music Educators Association, the highest honor given to a performing school ensemble in Kentucky. Mrs. Goff is assisted by Mrs. Laura Summers. This is Mrs. Summers’ first year with the orchestras at PLD.
